The Holidays are a great period to spend time with your loved ones. There are many ways to bond with family such as cooking, walking, hiking, and doing things you both enjoy. Although there are many ways to bond with loved ones, a great way to bond with Elders is by making sugar ornaments to decorate a Christmas tree. Whether it is with family members or Caregivers, this is a fun recipe that Seniors will greatly enjoy. These recipes include the following:
Materials:
- About ½ cup of white sugar
- White glitter
- Christmas shape cookie cutters
- Small bowl
- Water
- Yarn or ribbon to hang the ornaments
- This easy recipe begins with mixing all the ingredients in a small bowl.
- Roll the mixture into a surface, flatten it out and begin cutting it with Christmas-shaped cookie cutters.
- Make a hole at the top of the shapes.
- Let the shapes dry over night
- Remove the shapes from the cookie cutters and tie a string or ribbon through the hole.
- They are now ready to be hung on the Christmas trees.
