Orange County Bipolar Care
When you have an Elderly or Senior loved one who has Bipolar Disorder, it’s almost impossible to predict when your loved one’s next mood swing will be in order to minimize dangerous behavior. Both symptoms of mania and depression can be dangerous in their own right and should be controlled with medication and counseling. The long-term disorder varies widely from person to person. Symptoms can persist for days, weeks, or months. Some people experience mixed episodes where they’re affected by depression and mania at the same time and others experience seasonal mood changes such as depression in the winter and mania during the spring and summer.
Whether your loved one has Bipolar I, Bipolar II, or Cyclothymic Disorder, it’s important to ensure that they don’t do anything irrational or reckless and help them to combat negative thinking. Helping your loved one on a day-to-day basis can be difficult, however, when you have your own immediate obligations to take care of.
At A-1 Home Care Agency, we provide compassionate in-home Bipolar Care on a 24-hour Live-In Care or Hourly Care basis. Our compassionate and qualified caregivers, nurse aides, home helpers, and companions can assist with tasks that are essential to your loved one’s well-being such as medication adherence, companionship, meal preparation, and engagement in fun activities that can help take their mind off negative thoughts or actions such as impulsive spending.
All of our Bipolar Caregivers must have prior at home caregiving experience, verifiable professional references, a National Background Check/DMV Check, Tuberculosis testing, Malpractice/Liability insurance, First Aid/CPR training, and a personal interview with our office staff.
